Mahmoud Ibrahim, CEO & Co-Founder of Homzmart, joins Moghamra to discuss his journey in building Egypt's largest online furniture platform, which now also operates in the Saudi market. Mahmoud shares the challenges of navigating Egypt's fragmented furniture landscape, building an efficient supply chain, and standardizing products while working with thousands of suppliers. Based on his journey, he shares with us what he believes to be the big challenges and opportunities of exporting for Egyptian manufacturers. We delved deep into Homzmart's unique model. Mahmoud explained their robust complementary services that facilitate their supply chain cycle and made them the market leaders. We asked him about their recent expansion, the differences between the local and Saudi markets, and why they chose to open offline stores. Before founding Homzmart, he co-founded and served as COO of Daraz, a South Asian e-commerce platform later acquired by Alibaba. He began his career at 17 as a customer experience analyst at Cisco Systems. He then spent three years at Jumia, where he became VP of Operations.
